"See first drawing, the slider bar also does work when it is pulled in and just drops out after the magnet moves all the way to the middle of the next plate pair!
It just repeats itself, after the slider moves into place and the second set of plates seperate the slider moves up into that gap and the bars close now that the magnet assembly has move to the next set and the cycle repeats, back and forth. The plates always open when the magnet assembly is half way across the new plate set.

I have e-mailed Butch a few times regarding similar designs (not this particular one). It is hard to see where the equlibrium would be, because the design alters between pseudo solid configuration and attraction to magnetic parts. I don't know if he has simulated on this yet, or have actually buit one to test, but in general he seems to be approaching some interesting designs with respect to magnetic propulsion. Without a 3D magnetics software, it is impossible to simulate this because the magnetic field goes angular to the movement of the magnetic parts he use in the magnetic gap. This cannot be simulated with a 2D magnetics software such as FEMM 4.2. Also I have problems in making accurate or equivalent simulations on my  "zipper" motor - which also are based on the exchange between pseudo solid parts and repulsion/attraction when the parts are not in a pseudo solid configuration.

Many sleepless nights for me lately - it is hard to sleep when one cannot confirm wether this work or not... Because I'm not longer satisfied with the "trouth" that energy cannot be created, nor destroied. However, we DO have energy in the whole universe; From where does this energy come from, and how was energy created in the first place?

He believes after having done years of research and testing with what he has named, "Pseudo Solids", that the best way to extract free energy from magnets is that method. He says "the magnet thinks it is interacting with a solid, but it's not. It's a way of tricking the magnet so to speak".
I myself see this research as very likely the way to harness free energy.

He wanted to know what I thought would happen if you moved the magnet assembly to the right as shown in the drawing and then up and then left to open up the top pair of plates. Then with the bottom plates now closed reverse the sequence.
Very interesting. I see no drag anywhere during the movement except for eddy current drag which we all know can be eliminated with proper materials.

It seems that the latest LaFonte Research design has had each of it's basic functions verified by Maxwell simulations and by actual hardware testing that is on video. The sliding bar that turns the seperated bars into a Pseudo Solid needed to be attracted into the gap between the two seperated bars and this verified in practice.
It has been and tests are being replicated. All other aspects of it's operation are well known to work.
Now to take the basic principle and engineer it to a rotary design. Butch said he will up load video to youtube and pictures and Maxwell data to the Flickr sight. This looks like an all positive work, no negative work system and super simple at that.

If the magnet wants to approach a narrower part of the track, why should it work to separate the two small iron parts? These two separating parts will not fully separate with that small magnet, because until a sertain point the two pieces will not separate anymore. Maybe separate as much as the diameter of the magnet - maximum.

Does not depend on the strength of the magnet how far the two iron parts separate?  Because the magnet will magnetize the two parts quasi equally so the two parts repel each other: how far they are able to repel just a question of the strength of the inducing magnet, no?  And if they separate as much as the diameter (or the width in case of a rectangular magnet) because magnet strength is a finite number indeed, then you still have some freedom to choose the mechanical sizes.

The magnet will separate the iron parts untill a sertain extent, but the magnet are attracting the iron parts more than the repulsion between the iron parts. Therfor the iron parts cannot repel and separate "infinitely". Also the magnetic behaviour of the iron parts will weaken as farther from the magnet they are.

In the last video I see the iron parts are separating way beyond the range of the magnet, and way beyond the repulsing forces between the iron parts are allowing.

There is more to this last design which is a problem. The V track will allow the small magnet to approach the point where the distance in the V are about the same as the diameter of the magnet and the magnet will rest there. It will not move further to separate the iron parts.

The next problem is: If you choose a much bigger magnet, the magnet will rest earlier in the V track, and definitely not move on to separate the iron parts between those two V tracks.

Sorry I haven't any idea how it should be done - I just know the present design will not work.
