From an article titled the "race to zero percent":As it turns out, creating financial bubbles and asset price inflation does not create growth and prosperity for all. But don’t expect central bankers to admit this any time soon; they are what you call in poker “pot committed” to this policy. And thus the race to 0% is likely to continue as central bankers increasingly compete with one another in the greatest financial experiment in history.

Their goal is simple: drive the expected future return on all asset classes to 0% or even negative levels. This in turn will enable governments to continue to borrow beyond their means and convince the masses that things are great and they should spend what little money they have saved because stock prices are going up. In short, it is a policy of borrowing from the future to satisfy the whims of today, delaying the structural reforms necessary to generate real growth.

Is this good economic policy? Of course not, but with stocks at new highs don’t expect many complaints. Only after faith in these policies inevitably fade and stocks start going down will the blame game and hearings begin. “How could you have let this happen,” they will shout, pointing fingers at one another.

“Oh, what a tangled web we weave…when first we practice to deceive.” – Walter Scott

From an article titled"Dont shoot your mouth off in Ferguson :"I don’t know that the shooting was justified, but I do believe there is reasonable doubt about the shooting. There is Wilson’s word; there are some conflicting accounts. At this moment, the strongest argument against Wilson is suspicion, not fact. There’s this stereotype about white cops and black victims, and a cadre of professionals intent on making sure that the stereotype speaks louder than any evidence.

A heavy media presence also allowed hotheads to preen on national TV and fanned the flames of discontent. In August, critics piled on the militarized police presence in Ferguson which, they charged, contributed to public unrest. Remember the term “war zone?” After Monday night’s riots, cable news critics were complaining again about the cops and National Guard — but this time, because there weren’t enough of them. Well, which is it?

Soon the camera crews will be gone. Local merchants will take down the boards they had nailed to protect their windows. Small-business owners will debate whether to stay or relocate. Monday night’s looters will have to live with what they allowed themselves to become for one night. The people of Ferguson and the police who patrol their intersections will have to look each other in the eye again. Some rioters, too, will have to look at the damage they inflicted.

More from the same article:After St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch announced there would be no charges against Wilson, Brown’s stepfather was seen exhorting a crowd to “burn” his city down. Where is the justice in that?

Brian Willingham, a church pastor and black police officer from Flint, Mich., told the New York Times, “I now realize, that we who consider ourselves leaders in the black community can’t just be against racism. We have to also be against a portion of black culture that has become increasingly anti-authority and antisocial to a point of self-destruction. This is an enemy we’ve yet to engage in the black community. But it’s a conversation I think we’re forced to have now.”

Francisco Chronicle columnist.

One more thing, only US citizens can collect SS so the money paid by illegals is used for American citizens and the illegals cannot collect. And they can't vote, either, so the phrase No Taxation Without Representation should come to mind

Progressive Democrats, led by Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, railed against the Wall Street-friendly provision which made its way into the bill at the last minute: The weakening of the so-called “swaps push-out rule” from the 2010 Dodd Frank financial reform law. The push-out rule bans big banks from using taxpayer-insured depositor funds to back certain risky derivatives trading. It also requires financial institutions to move parts of their business involved in those trades to separate groups or affiliates.

On the floor of the Senate on Wednesday, Warren pleaded with her House counterparts to vote down the bill. “Who does Congress work for?” she asked. “Does it work for the millionaires, the billionaires, the giant companies with their armies of lobbyists and lawyers? Or does it work for all of us?”

Dramatic but perhaps valid questions. Financial services companies spent $1.2 billion on campaign contributions and lobbying between January 2013 and mid-November 2014.

Lawmakers rallied around the idea of financial reform in the immediate aftermath of the financial crisis. But pushback from the financial industry grew as Dodd Frank legislation took shape. “For years, they delayed implementation,” says Task. “And now that it’s the law of the land, Wall Street has continued to and will continue to fight back against it. And they won a big one here.”triffid

If these projections become reality, 'the game is over' for the American and European commodity/stock/bond speculators.

What was it like in the early Thirties?   My parents and grandparents lived through this and this time there's a whole lot more money at stake.   Collapse should be on a lot of people';s minds in a few weeks or months.

Oh, WilbyInebriated, I didn't forget you and your insinuating rhetoric.   You were told what I was doing with this page, right?   I remember very well.

       Okay, okay.
I understand what you mean.   I read what he said and also what his cohort on another tech-related site called 'pfcem' said; and they both write in exactly the same style:"  it's like they went to the same school together.   Honestly.
