Fascinating... "A real pisser"....  And from "O-U" too (in this case "Ohio University", located in Athens, one of the best college party towns on the planet...or used to be when i was young anyway) ;)

"H -Pee-Oh"

"...Be right back, i gotta go Hydroxinate"

or "...I gotta go talk to a man about 200 horses."

Bumper sticker: "This vehicle is powered by Budweiser"

Seriously though, i wonder why "Nickle" makes a better electrode in this case?

Hi Jib.

Nickel has a catalytic reaction to Hydrogen and readly absorbs it although at a much lower rate than Palladium.

Nickel and Palladium are Hydrogen getters.

you can do a simple experiment by getting two bowls of equal size and pour a cup of water into each bowl, place 5 nickels in one bowl and none in the other, place both bowls in a cool dark place for 3 days.

after 3 days do a measurement of which bowl lost its water first. the bowl with the Nickels should win against the controlled experiment bowl with no Nickels.

Jerry ;)
