I applaud your enforcement of the multiple user name ban. There are still folks here doing exactly this and I believe it undermines the integrity of the forum itself. After all, you build a reputation on any forum, good or bad, by your behavior or lack thereof. As in life, this reputation should follow you around in the forum.

Stefan, I think this should be a topic all of its own. (even a locked one) to warn the multiple user name folks that it is time to stop. I have done some research and I believe I know who most of them are. Thanks.

I'm not sure Stefan would be interested in limiting members[one address can have several members]
I myself have never posted under any other name
As long as Stefan has the IP's there is no way to abuse and get away with it

Sure there is. My IP address changes on here about every other time I log on. IP addresses do change on a regular basis.

Stefan said he was going to do this already anyway and I was just agreeing with him. There are other ways to track folks and I am sure Stefan knows how to do this. I understand what you say about multiple users from one household, but Stefan can tell that also. (There are several ways) I agree that a husband and wife, or whatever, should be allowed to have access and I am sure that will still be ok.

IP addresses do change, but your block address wont when using the same cable, your IP will always be selected from one of many in your designated IP block.

But employing IP block address blacklisting does not cure all because anyone can just use a proxy server. Also if someone on the same block as a banned user tries to sign up then they will not be able to.

You will have to ask Stefan what he meant by that. It is possible that you are correct but that is not how I read it.

I see it is changed now but, we used to (maybe even a week ago or so) see our own IP address over top of our Avatar on the home page. I started writing mine down each time I signed on because I thought I saw it was different but then thought maybe I was going crazy or something. After writing it down each day for a week, I saw that it changed 5 times. Stefan said in another post somewhere that this is common. I am using no special "spoof" software to do this.

Beside those who were "carefully saving" themselves (and their "reputation") in the last few days (Very smart move, i'd say...), some of us tried to disclose the idiotism of such a system ..

Most of the neg. hits -smites (the series of them!) were given by the "very organised and motivated" people and their groups... I personally scored 90% of a neg. rep. just after the mayhem call of just a one pearson, the "great Buzz"..

I've checked one of the most "fucked up and disilusional" groups - (that would be the "SaintBuzz" and his (few) followers!) Basically, there are just a three of them, plus a few occasional "bypassers"....

While their boss is a highly delusional, but very indoctrinated and decisive pearson, spreading mostly disinformation and HATE , he is acting with accordance with his eternal EGO principles.. THE TROLL OF THE WORST KIND...

He's enforcing a "one truth, myne truth" principle with a brute (and a very primitive) methods...

No proof for his claims of any kind, whatsoever. (!!!)
He has harmed many of the good people here. Imagine, the poor fecker appeared here just recently? Whomever asked for a proof of any of his claims, he was chased to the limits....Who is against him, he's an unbeliever. And should be burned on the stake...

As for Saint Buzz's attempts to inform his fellow man if thnigs that you and your institution do not want to be made public, what have you done? If you were all devoted researchers for the betterment of mankind, you would assist him.

I personally would just implement an "report abuse" button, to report the real abuses to Stefan.
I think what many people here would declare an abuse is just a difference in opinion, and IMHO this is what such a forum is for. If we all have the same opinion, the same truth, it wouldn't make sense to discuss!

As long as we are not enlightened and really understand the why and how of all things, we just have a limited truth which may be very wrong. Sure everybody for himself thinks his truth is right, it has to be, otherwise it wouldn't be one's truth. But one must also see, that one's own truth has changed and still changes over time, so is it not logical, that one's current truth is not correct, or harder said that it has to be wrong! So why fight against each other, convincing one another, that his truth is the one and only real thing. This is just like the many religious wars which have been fought and are still going on...It just doesn't make sense...

Tolerance is the keyword.

People should understand, that having different opinions and even having sometimes hard discussions about them, has nothing to do with the persons themselves. Which means, if I have a different opinion, doesn't mean I think you're bad/an idiot/looser/...
IMHO too many people here take discussions about opinions/truths too personally. And as soon as they feel that they've been attacked they will smite...REVENGE!!!

I think the idea of this forum is to spread one's ideas to inspire other people, or get inspired by their ideas. Additionally other people can show the flaws in ones theories and vice versa...
So together we will be able to progress faster.
This is at least how I see it.

If people still wanna be able to distinguish people who contribute profound posts, one could introduce the thanking system like e.g. philosophy.org has. Which means, if you liked a post you thank this user for this post. So people which have been thanked a lot do get some reputation for their work.
