Cheap wind idea I've been holding out on for a while....
« on: October 11, 2008, 04:30:40 AM »
Coil 6" round
String 5 and 9/16
Top of string aprroxamately 1/4" down a magnet
2 inches down a stick running perpendicular to the string and two magnets one on each side with 1/2" clearence from each side
4 inches down another stick with same clearance
1/2" from bottom another magnet.

now to maximize efficantcy between the two sticks cover the area between the 2 sticks in a piece of plastic to catch the wind like a sail and hang it from a tree or high structure by string...

Note this is only a scale model in all technical aspects you will need a larger coil to allow more space between the magnets...

The idea is to design a non turbine powered device...

I call this design Magnetic Wnd Chimes!!!

Enjoy build test wind you could easily scale this in multple or have several hanging at the same hieght!

The design is only limited by imagination of an individual.

Please do not hold back on comments.

Open to both critics and added new ideas as well.

Picture it in your minds eye.

Should be cheap to build as well.

Negatives and Positives

Pros or Cons I wanna hear them folks dont look at this and not comment.

Thank You,

Your idea has a lot in common with the wind belt.
Check it out, may give you some ideas on ways to improve it's output.

Good idea.

Sounds indeed a lot like...

Let me also add that when you want to convey your idea it's best to use some visual aid. While you have it in your head by writing it down alone won't help to put it inside somebody's else head.

Here is an illustration nothing professional just quick and crude a picture you can use if you will...

The thick dark black lines are sticks either wood or plastic your choice.

This thing may spin move back and forth or what ever means but it shall capture energy fairly cheaply !
