High voltage electrolysis? HUGE PRODUCTION!!
« on: April 05, 2008, 05:01:41 AM »
The other day I stumbled across some info about a guy running 110V straight DC through his 46 plate exlctrolyser which was producing 12 liters per minute at 15 amps! I just wanted to ask if anyone here has played with high voltage electrolysis and what there experiences were? Today I tried out my 7 plate cell at 12VDC and had little production, but after connecting it to the 110V outlet plug it produced much more gas. I did not rectify the current to straight dc so I'm not really sure what was going on, and I think I was probdbly drawing some major amperage as the unit began to humm.

Please share any successes, ideas and cell designs you have had good production with high voltage electrolysis!

110v * 15 = 1650watts!! I hope with this amount of current you get this kind of result ;)

thats a practicle solution .....now put it in your car !!! you'll need about 20miles worth of cable to take your missus shopping!

Yes, but 12 litres of what? There may be a lot of steam in there, with well over 2 volt
per cell. What temperature did the unit run at? Any more details?
Paul.

My 55 pound Honda generator is very efficient. It runs 4 hours on 1.1 gallon of fuel at continous running load of 1600 watts. Check out the EU2000I.

Today I have tried electrolysis with black and white TV EHT transformer hydrogen production is very very less.

110v/46 electrodes= around 2,5 V per electrode. So not such a big voltage ,just big power used.

:D Use buck converter more current less voltage give huge production. Very less heating

Don't mean to be stupid, but check out Bob Boyce's original work.
(I know, I'm repeating myself!)

His well documented method used less current (half that), an inverter, and produced enough
to run a large V8 in a racing boat.  Isn't that enough?

There are so many references to that work that I need to say no more.....

Current flowing through WFC is high but current taken from battery is less, power is constant (12V x 1Amps=12W) input to circuit output(3V X 4Amps=12 Watt) to WFC. This is possible with inductor and diode,  some frequency and duty cycle,In each successful circuit there is inductor to boost curent and reduce voltage across cess, Inductor opposes to change in current, It takes less current from battery.  Dave Lawton circuit... :o
