here"s a thread for discussion on the possibility of building a low energy nuclear explosive.the rules are only one rule: enriched uranium is not allowed.input is welcome

I've got three basic designs in mind that are suited to three possible mechanisms.

1)..............................
 ...............................
  ___________________
   flash initiator
  ___________________
  Lenr mix
  ..............................
  ...............................<< Fissile X (not necessarily
fissionabl)

Design 1 where the heat source, lenr particle generator and target coat are seperate entities

Design 2 where the heat source is seperate but the lenr particle generator and target are intimately mixed

Design 3 where the heat source, particle generator and target are all mixed.

The expected size of these devices would be around 1meter/300cm or so I imagine and could yield anything between 1 and 500 tons tnt depending on constituents.if these are not already in military stockpiles I feel there's a chance that they will be in future

"The
challenge is to supply UDH as if it was
neutron flux."

The way around this issue is a suitable cascade magnifier. UDH > particle enhancer generator element or compound > extra neutrons

http://www.rexresearch.com/marks/marks.htm
A tiny generator the size of a grapefruit could be made to provide all the power your home needs --- from the waste furnace heat now going up your chimney.
This is the conclusion of physicist and inventor Alvin M. marks, who recently patented a new way to generate electricity without moving parts, magnetic fields, or expensive chemical reactions.
The new generator requires only a jet of gas containing liquid vapor and the presence of an electric field and the presence of an electric field that helps condense it into a fine, electrically charged mist or aerosol.
What’s more, the little model aerosol generator sown here can be made so efficient in converting heat energy to electricity (up to 70%), that it promises to make obsolete conventional thermal generating conventional thermal efficiency of 35%. Reason: it converts heat and kinetic energy directly to electricity

You are on the right track lanca.start with something small and grow it up but I suspect a pomogranite may be better suited design here but what can we use to speed it up?

@ lanca. This GREEN FERRITE sounds interesting. After 2011 we heard nothing from this 'invention' anymore.
---Okayama Graduate School of Science and Technology is one of many developing solar cells and batteries, but its research team, led by one Professor Naoshi Ikeda, has a unique approach. Instead of silicon, currently the standard component in solar cells, the Okayama team is using an iron oxide compound it calls “green ferrite,” or GF. Professor Ikeda has gone so far as to claim his product will produce 100x the amount of energy as a traditional silicon solar cell.
Part of the increase in energy production would come from the infra-red spectrum — solar cells do not currently convert heat into electricity, but apparently the green ferrite has that capability. Professor Ikeda speculates that any area collecting waste heat (the ceiling of your kitchen, for example) could serve as a home for a GF solar cell.---
I still believe that a 'heat 2 electricity' cell has a bright future. Professor Ikeda was however selling snake oil for 6 years ago.

When I say “fissile" I don't necessarily mean a chain react and I don't necessarily mean actinide

Is an intimate understanding necessary or is it a matter of flinging ideas,or both?
