Do you mean it will produce an actual flame of some type at the nozzle at the top?
All you need to do is apply a high DC voltage, plus to the tea bag filter and minus to the barbecue body?
How do you get the air to start burning?
With no explanation, I am not sure what you are trying to achieve. :)

As Terbo mentioned, it looks like it is a large air ionizer.
You can buy commercially made air ionizers cheaper than that,
hence the questions about what you are trying to achieve.

I will give it a try.
I guess a different kind of metal ball instead of the BB would also possible or are there limitation to the amount of air inside the reactor.
Second question your HV unit....feeding it from the grid?... i assume the higher the voltage the better?
