BTW. the two wires that go over the 555, they look as if they're touching. They're not! and may not. The left one is much higher.


Also, a simple 5 cent blinking LED is used: when it blinks, the signal is dc. when it is lit continously then there is a pulse with low space voltage (mark/space, or low/high).


Or, use a scope. If you have one. Which I haven't.


I think such a short duty high frequency pulse is especially interesting for collapsing fields or impedance pulling, such as in jack no skills capacitive open coil system, which I actually built it for.

I just answer *****  ;) the  "ignore this .." is Sarcasm from TK , but i just answer  five stars to the initiative of  TK to put the circuit with scope shots, is really more productive then their habitual sarcasm words . Hope i clarify you or anyone about my answer .

Note: The above results were obtained with a bipolar 555 flavor: NE555P. Using a CMOS 555 flavor TLC555CP the results are very different.

With the CMOS 555 the LED comes on brighter... because the duty cycle is much greater, due to the frequency being much higher while the pulse itself is nearly the same.

Also, I tried a Philips brand bipolar NE555N from Thailand -- interestingly it performs more like the CMOS, with a frequency of about 1.63 MHz and a duty cycle of 27 percent.

Your appropriate response to me should be "Thank you very much TK, I didn't know that the performance of this circuit depended so much on which particular kind of 555 timer is used, _because I have no oscilloscope_ and I can't test things properly."

Stick to your ignore list if you don't want to see my comments. If you don't want me to examine your claims, don't make them. If you don't want people to test "your" circuits.... don't post them. If you don't want to be criticized for posting huge images... learn how to use your computer or cellphone to make them smaller.
