Title: Brushless Homopolar generator by using Dirac String Trick ?

Hello, has anyone tried making a brush-less Homopolar Generator using the principle known as "Dirac's String Trick"?

One of the biggest problems with Holopolar generators is dealing with the very large currents that are created.  Brushes tend to burn out; other mechanisms, such as mercury baths, are too clumsy.
Ideally, the cable contacts on the axle and edge of the rotating disk should be fixed, but obviously, the cables mustn't get twisted off.

Apparently, it is possible to attach fixed cables to a rotating disk without having them  break off, by looping over the disk, as in this Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plate_trick

Why not - but the strings (current inlets) would cross axis of generator anyway...

There would be gyroscopic issues but I think the biggest problem is that the promise of overunity from this device, (DePalma, Tewari) does not seem to have been realised.
