Title: How do i hook up the brushes of my Tesla Switch commutator.
Post by: antimony on December 13, 2016, 07:16:08 PM
Hi, I have to be quick because my phone is acting up and i don't want to loose this post.

I have built a Tesla Switch commutator based on the one that Patrick Kelly gives in chapter 5 of his book.
It has 12 brushes total, with two on each "arm". I will post a picture of it so you can see for yourself.

I just wonder how I should connect the brushes to the circuit.

I know I should really know how to do it myself, but I am not sure exactly.

Here is one, I hope that it is enough, but I can post another one if you want to.  :)

Nevermind this thread. I will try to hook it up and if it doesn't work right away i will try again.  :)

The switches are only simply on/off switches, press to make.

You need to follow Patrick's circuit and connect accordingly.
