Tell me why this machine should not work
« on: October 21, 2016, 12:01:46 AM »
I attach an animation of a PM machine powered by gravity and permanent magnets.
Note the internal structure of the ball.

Any thoughts?

Nice idea but I don't see the magnet ever reaching the hole. At least not in the  specific illustration given. It'll be repelled from like poles before it gets there.

The siplest explanation to why this can't work is:
Permanent magnets are conservative.
Gravity is conservative.
The word conservative means no change. No change means no displacement, no movement, no energy transefer, no nothing.
You cannot get energy out of conservative forces. Simple as that.
