Hi, One stator of a the PMA will be used to charge a cap that will drive the electromagnets in repulsion mode. The real power source is gravity.
It sounds like a word game but it is not. Once the device is started, it is stuck in a continues loop. I should be testing in a few days.  Good or bad, I will post results. Thanks for showing interest.   No water required.

Hi, it is a multi stator permanent magnet alternator. I intentionally made the stators with a high internal resistance. It will produce a high voltage at low RPM. I will use a DC to DC step down converter  with a variable duty cycle to reduce (I squared R) loss at the stator. The only claim at this time is it not a overunity device. The configuration is easy to fabricate, so others may do their own testing. Cheers

SWING5 video is a better idea. Applying Magnet and E-Mag configuration to drive the device. It should be self powered and using a DC to DC step down converter with a variable duty cycle when generating electricity will prevent system stall. One PMA will power the E-Mag and one PMA will be used to generate electricity. Still not OU, but it should work. A gravity powered pulse motor with zero operational cost, other than maintenance cost.

It will function like a wind turbine with no wind required.

The electromagnet has limits adding two air cylinders with two moving weights may help. Using the swing 5 configuration just add another moving weight to the stationary weight side.  During rotation as one weight falls it will push the other weight toward the center.

Hi, I am combining the above videos to form a gravity assisted pulse motor. Then I will using use the electronics from a wind turbine to generate electricity. This is a first attempt so plans may change. Thanks for showing interest.

Correcting flaw in design, it should take a few weeks to fabricate.

Mounting Swing5 on glide swing so no load will ever be placed on the input drive motor.

Aside from that, and not to be a party killer, but I might have experienced from several experiments that gravity and magnets can't provide energy...

If you for some reason can make a magnet that keeps its magnetic orientation while it is spinning around, this device will actually work.
The idea is that the inner rotor is a magnetic south pole at the circumference, and north pole in the center. The outer rotor is magnetized through its diameter so south is on one side and north on the other side - even if it is spinning around.
IF you can achieve this, you have a magnet motor with 20% excess energy.
Let me explain:
In this construction, both outer and inner rotor has the same torque, but the inner rotor spins 20% faster than the outer rotor due to the 5/4 gear ratio. This is proven by simulations only. That means the energy of the inner rotor must be higher. As you know that torque multiplied with RPM is energy.
The problem:
How can I get a permanent magnet keep its magnetic orientation in the same direction while it is spinning? When that problem is solved, you got yourself an over unity device.


You cannot magnetize the outer rotor with external magnets. That will cause the outer rotor to increase the torque to 20% more than the inner rotor. So it will not work.


Now you can start figure things out to make it work :-)

Phun has a bug. I have experienced unexpected things with phun myself.
I made an unbalanced wheel, and springs attached a little distance from the hub, but 90° offset - one horizontal and one vertical. The wheel accelerated in one direction, and did not want to rotate the other direction.
The "ballbearing" in the center of the chapes does not keep itself in place under stress. This will make false computing of the forces involved in you model, because Phun use the actual location of the mass for computing, and overlook that the bearing isn't fixed to one place.
The experiment is easy to replicate in Phun.

Speaking for myself, I have not got any positive results yet. I try to make things work without violate laws of thermodynamics. If you succeed in doing that one day, no one can say your'e a fraud ;D  (Well if you claim you're violating anything, people will not believe...that's what I meant ;) )

I run simulations first, and then, if I cannot understand why the concept does not work, I build it. This far, I haven't built so many. I have a project going on now. A small sized project. I have no expectations other than it will most probably not work.
However, I think it's fun to put things together - no matter what it is.
You learn more from practical experiments than any other way of educating yourself. That's why I'm doing this :-)

Here is a simple method I use to take an oscillating input and convert it into a single direction rotating output.

In 700 if you look at the top left part of the picture you see the input arm connected to the first input shaft,, then to the right of that first input shaft\gear\one way bearing is the second input shaft with its own gear\one way bearing and then to the right of that is the output shaft with its own gear\one way bearing.

In this setup I am using levers to connect the two input shafts,, but sprockets and chain work as well so that you are not limited on the angle of rotation per input cycle.

I used a one way bearing on the output so that the output flywheel would keep spinning without  the input system moving,, in other words if the input slowed down it did not slow the output down with it.

As a side note,

The setup as pictured was as a CVT for a dual solenoid motor I was playing with.

I was thinking that if you used a connecting rod from your pendulum arm to the input arm, so that you could slide the connection point on the input arm, you could adjust the gear ratio real easy to maybe match your input to what your PMA would use.

The closer to the first input shaft the connection the more output rotation per cycle but less output torque,, the further away the less the rotation but with more torque.

With you doing so much mechanical stuff,, this is a versatile little way of going about rectifying a reciprocating motion into a rotary one.

You can use it on all sorts of things,, bicycles,, pedal go-carts,, motors,, anything where you need a rotary output from a cyclical or oscillating input,, as well as it functions as a CVT,, just slide the connection on the input arm and, depending on the angle of operation for the one way clutch,, you can turn the output off.

An oscillator, or pendulum like this does not operate very much different from a rotary solution, because both principles are based on the very same sinusiodal fuction. At the moment you load the output coil, the magnet will feel resistance because the coil will resist induction when it is loaded. This resistance will add a delay on the pendulum that will drain the kinetic energy of it, so the pendulum will stop sooner than if it was not loaded. Using big heavy weights, will not make any othe difference than sustaining oscillation longer because higher weight at a given angular velocity has more kinetic energy than a light weight at the same angular velocity.
This kind of resistive electromechanism will apply to any form of generators that is loaded. A rotary solution will keep rotating as long there is no energy output, just like the pendulum will continue to oscillate as long there is no energy output, but both will be drained if you load them.
I can see that the bicycle frame is wobbling like a seesaw. If you take energy out of this seesaw, the very same happens. When you load it with resistance, you basicly are counterforcing the seesaw with a given delay that will cause the pendulum to stop. No free energy in this one.

The same will happen here if it wasn't for the energy input from the pneumatically piston.
The misconception is that a pendulum that is arranged like this will provide energy output with little or no energy input. However, the energy output is a direct consequence of the energy input.
It is both mathematically and practically provable, but the inventors often overlook this because of the construction principle plays mind tricks.
It's difficult, if not impossible, to observe the machine behavior in detail. The counterforce from the energy output is allways slightly ahead of the mechanical oscillation. This is harder to observe the less energy output there is.


However, it has been built water wells with hand powered pumps that is based on this principle. These pumps are more efficient because the loss in the human body is less when operating such a pump compared to the continuous external pressure directly on a pump lever. Try to press your hands hard together for a while. No work is done because the hands are stationary, but you consume lots of energy. The pendulum require a short burst of energy input that in turn does not require much energy from your body, but the energy input is not less than the energy required to pump the water.

Hi, thanks again. My project is a attempt to find a configuration that will combine a small amount of electricity with mechanical advantage and gravity at the input that will produce a max torque at the output shaft.  The output shaft will drive a PMA. I plan to use Buck converter with a variable duty cycle  at the output of the PMA. The electricity generated at the output will be less then 50% of the max torque of the output shaft.

Just a tip for your project:
If you want to calculate energy, you must multiply torque with displacement. Torque is usually measured in punds pr feet or Newton per meter radius.


A buck converter is useful. These small devices increase voltage output on expense on current input. If you want to power a 10W load that runs on 20V @ 0.5 Ampére, and the input voltage is 10V, then the buck conveter will draw 1 Ampére from the input. So a buck converter does not increase energy output. The more expensive ones have an efficiency of approx 90-95%, which means for each watt output, it draws 1.05 - 1.1W at the input. Think of a inverted pulley with ropes. You must displace 1 meter of rope at 2kg force to lift a 1kg weight 2 meters up.

You can also buy them as DC to DC step UP converters. Amazingly how stable the output voltage is when you load them. I use such a converter to power my DIY aux head lights on my car. From the 12V car battery, this converter outputs 30V @ 3.2A, and if I hook off the load, the voltage is still 30V. I had to hook it directly on to the battery with a 10A fuse, and a relay, because the converter draws 9A from the battery, and the fuse in the car will blow if I power the converter directly from the head lights.
My LED aux lights are 2 x 5 LEDs at approx 10W each. Mine can deliver approx 160W max. Bought on DX.com.

Hi, after a summer of experimentation I found that the fewer moving parts the better, a large flywheel sucks a lot power from the system, and the two stage oscillator appears to be the best way to use a pendulum. I will purchase a hand warmer and try to continue when I can. Cheers

Interesting, Could you use that 200 volts to spike the battery when it is between pulse times of the wiper motor?
If that's too high dump the cap before it gets there ,multiple dumps?

Hi, it seems possible but the project goal is to use a Buck converter to converter a high voltage with low current to a lower voltage with higher current. This will reduce the (I square R) loss at the stator when the duty cycle is set below 50% .

Hey burnit, just curious but do you have a way to adjust the timing of the pulse? Looks like if you're in attraction mode you could pulse a little before the magnets are lined up, and maybe have better rpm. Reminds me of when I took the flywheel off a mower engine then tried to start it. The timing was so close the piston bucked back instead of crossing TDC, nearly pulling my arm off before the starter rope popped.

Anyway, timing is important in any machine.  ;D

Hi, I am using the e-mag in repulsion. I can rotate the trigger cam to adjust the timing. I have to fabricate away to adjust the position of the repulsion magnet on the stator. Timing is tricky. Thanks for the help.  I may have to increase the trigger voltage. I am fabricating a new e-mag using 18 AWG wire on a 2 by 4 inch bobbin, not sure of the turn count but the coil resistance is about 50 ohms. Thanks again for the help.

I've never tried multistranded, but I would think there's a reason it's not normally used. But whether you use that or normal wire, you'd definitely benefit by wiring it in a bifilar arrangement. After all, Tesla invented the bifilar winding for electromagnets. You'd see a faster response when the switch closes and less arcing and sparking on the switch contacts.

Hi, I think the main problem is the large  air gap between the e-mag and the rotor mag. There is a limit to the size of e-mag I can fabricate. The design was becoming too complex with too many parts. I found two examples of a linear pulse motor that may work better for this project. Thanks for the help. I am starting the rebuild. Thanks again.

I am thinking of using the failed pulse motor attempt rotor with two gap powered devices. The gap devices will be placed in a 180 degree configuration on the outside of the rotor and use a one to one gear set to drive the large swing5 rotor. All the parts are fabricated and I should be able to test soon.

Couple of ideas that may help to fine tune the system and  give you more power on electromagnet.


1-you may want use magnetic rid switch to control the electromagnet via mosfet or a power transistor which will allow you to fine tune and get maximum propulsion power out of electromagnet. Similar to pulse dc motor operation.


2- Put your electromagnet into metal tube/pipe and close the back of the tube/pipe as well like round washer or metal plate, by doing so you will increase power of your electromagnet may times. Or else you lose most of the electromagnet force if you don't enclose the coil in a metal housing.  For example: Transformer would not operate without a metal core.

Over five years ago I came up with a unique linear motor design where a coil moves on a steel core between two opposing permanent magnets.

The benefits I found in this design are:
1. The stronger the magnets and the more core surface area, the stronger the push or pull gram force is.
2. The design has no magnet cogging as the cores and magnets don't move.
3. The coils Inductance has next to no change as it moves since it never leaves the core.
4. If designed correctly the coils push or pull gram force is equal throughout the travel stroke.
5. Compared to a standard solenoid my design uses a fraction of the input power, so it can be continuously operated 24/7. A standard solenoid would catch on fire if it tried to continuously push or pull what my design can do.
6. My design offers huge travel distances compared to a standard solenoid.
7. It can be made to travel a 1/4 inch to 4 inches or more if needed while maintaining the same gram force throughout the stroke.

All tests were done with the same digital scale which displays pull gram force in 5 gram increments.

Results of the tests in the same order as the videos above:

no.1 has   250 grams pull force with a continuous 1.2 watt input
no.2 has   500 grams pull force with a continuous 0.43 watt input
no.3 has 2500 grams pull force with a continuous 0.43 watt input

As you can see I'm demonstrating that the pull gram force can be increased by the force of the permanent magnet without increasing the input power. Note that test no.1 has 1.2 watt input and test no.2 has 0.43 watt input which is a 65% reduction in input power but still has double the gram pull force.
Test no.3 has 5 times the gram pull force of test no.2 using the same input power since the core and magnet surface area is 8 times wider.
So obviously not just the force of the magnet can play a part but more core and magnet surface area also increases the push or pull gram force.

This is what I've been trying to demonstrate in a nutshell. However, since this is the Overunity Forum people here are mostly interested in OU possibility rather then an innovation.
So to please everyone I did tests to see if the super build could have OU potential even though I knew it would not since the design also suffers of the generator effect as the coil moves in the permanent magnet field. Since it can only move at a certain speed because the coil generates power as it moves, it fights the input power which is coming in the same direction, so we cannot beat the laws of physics here.

the pendulum was not working well for me. switched back to the swing5 rotor. I increase the stroke on the MPMM to 16 inches. At 12 volts dc it has low power. Suggestions welcome.

i can down size the swing5 rotor, or increase the magnet size and input voltage. I am aware of the inverse squared relationship for the magnet force and distance. suggestion welcome

The MMM can be designed to travel efficiently at any distance if you have the money or supplies to build it correctly.
The length and height of your coil determines the maximum travel length and diameter of your center core.

For example:
A 6 inch long coil wound 1 inch thick can efficiently travel 6 inches in each direction on a 1 inch dia. core that is 12 inches long.
A 12 inch long coil wound 2 inch thick can efficiently travel 12 inches in each direction on a 2 inch dia. core that is 24 inches long.
If your coil is 4 inches long and you're trying to get it to travel 8 inches in each direction on a 16 inch long core then you reduce the MMM push/pull force by half.
So not efficient, no matter how many magnets you add.

If you follow the above example then you'll get the best results. And if you also include an outer core which takes advantage of both poles of the magnets like I have demonstrated in my videos, then you'll double the push/pull force with the same input power.
Obviously the stronger the magnets are and the more core and coil surface area there is the stronger the push/pull fore will be and without an increase in input power.
However, keep in mind that generator effect (CEMF) also increases with the above which I've also tested and confirmed in a video demo which confirms the MMM is an under unity device.
I would think it may be as efficient to use an off the shelf geared motor and attach a crank shaft if you're needing a back and forth linear motion.

posting just for info, it uses mechanical advantage, gravity, and the drive motor could be pulsed on and off

looks easier to fabricate, this could be the solution, the large magnets are scaring me

Hi, I may have found a way to increase stroke length  of the MMM. additional magnet sets could be placed in the iron core, the coil could be pulsed every time it reaches a new set of magnets.
