I am not sure if this has been reported here. I will sadly miss the smartest person I ever knew.

Well that is really sad. I always found him to be very measured and generous in advice. That is a big loss

Oh no. I'm shocked, don't know what to say. I've noticed his absence and wondered if there was something wrong. I have a small package of parts that he sent to me just a couple of weeks ago.

   Oh, what a sad day.
Mark was knowledgeable, supremely patient and generous.
I've learned so much basic stuff from him via PM's over the
  last couple of years.
I couldn't figure out the relationship between magnetism and
the way an electric current  is induced and Mark was able to
satisfactorily explain it in a couple of lines in a PM.
Thank you Mark, I'll really miss you,
                 John.

I enjoyed reading "Mark's" comments, and found his answers based on sound reasoning and knowledge.  I hope his brilliance lead him to accepting Jesus sacrifice for his sins, so he may have everlasting life to continue his research and knowledge of God, and God's creation as it applies to true science.

Mark E's. knowledge and expertise/humility will be missed by those that are still here.  It reminds us that our stay on the earth, in this life is temporary, but also allows our opportunity to know God through his Son Jesus Christ.  Hope to be able to meet you later Mark.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of MarkE . I often wondered how he had the patience to teach the art so eloquently in the face of so many(uninitiated) that were quick to sling mud at him. (I PM''d him this question many times.) Here is one of his honest and witty replies::

Quote
Vortex1 thanks for the kind words.  Sometimes I wonder myself.  Some of it is just practice.  I think it is a useful skill to learn how to remain calm even under persistent personal attack.  Part of it is the guilty pleasure of making life a little bit harder for carnival barkers.  Oh and then there is that eight figure paycheck for suppressing the world's most revolutionary energy concepts...

He was definitely one of the smartest, kindest teachers on the forums, and I enjoyed the many PM exchanges with him as well as exchanges on the forums. I hold him in the highest esteem....he knew his stuff, was willing to teach it expertly and patiently to even an unwilling student,  and will be very deeply missed.  :'(

I have heard from many learned men with much experience in his field that Mark was perceived
as Gifted,    he gave freely of this Gift to any man that would have it.

He taught us all to do a better job here.

Truly a Noble legacy.

with all respect to his family and wishing them peace in this most difficult time.

I am totally shocked by this very sad news.  Like TK, I noticed that Mark had not posted in a bit...I just figured he was on a vacation or something.  Mark certainly has helped me and I have learned a lot from him on many levels.  He helped to bust so many of the scams we have seen here in this field and taught many of us good measurement and testing techniques while doing so.  He also set a great example on how to take abuse from the clearly less knowledgeable and not get angered.

It was not that long ago we were corresponding on building and testing new style led lighting devices and chip drivers for them.  He certainly leaves behind a large void here in our community.  My prayers go out to his family members.

Mark Dansie, thank you very much for letting all of us know about this very sad turn of events.  I will be raising a glass in a toast to his memory here in a bit.

RIP MarkE, thanks for everything.

Mark will be missed. I am sure that, being human, he had failings. The only one I can see is being too generous.
R.I.P. Mark.
