I don't see how this qualifies as being an overunity device. Joule thieves don't output more power than they consume.

Where exactly was there a claim of it being an OU device?

A JT put's out the same amount of power/energy as it consumes -it is a unity device.

some can come very close to unity,
 but in general, JT's are poorly made, with little consideration to their functionality.
and thus are rather inefficient.

I would expect some large inductive losses with the tin can, as well as poor (low) frequency response, and wasted field

that being said, nice job. This demonstrates that with some scrap parts and a little ingenuity a JT circuit can be built out of anything.

As I said,every JT runs at unity. In fact, anything that has an energy input has the very same amount of energy output, and thus every device runs at unity-unless you have found a way to destroy energy?.

Since there is no way to destroy energy there is also no way to create energy, no device here qualifies as an overunity device.

No device anywhere will ever be overunity. Overunity is a term used until the source of energy is found or understood-nothing more.

I like this project Tinman.  I believe if you add several neos to the can around or on the coil, it will raise the freq. and you will no longer hear that buzzing sound.  I did this with several of my Jeanna's Light JT circuits.  In some cases, the leds get a bit brighter too when you do this...but not always.

Last I heard, and this may be like 4 or 5 years ago or so, she moved to the pacific northwest and bought some land and was making a house out of 2 shipping containers.  She said she was far from the grid and cell towers.  So, hopefully, she is enjoying living off the grid up there.  That was the last that I have heard from her.
