1. Bring the rotor up to a precisely known RPM with the coil disconnected and time precisely how long it takes to come to a stop when the drive is removed. Do this several times so that you get a good average.
2. Repeat Step 1 except with the coil shorted. Again, several times to get a good average.
3. Repeat Step 1 except with the coil driving a load, like the capacitor/LED combination.
4. Compare the times from Step 1 with the times from Step 2 and Step 3.
5. Report the findings.
6. Discuss.
7. Use the rotational moment of inertia to compute the energy storage in Joules at the RPM used in the prior steps (coil disconnected). Use the rundown times to compute the average power dissipation of the rotor. Use a graphical representation of the RPM vs Time during the rundowns to get instantaneous power dissipation values at any RPM during the rundown. 
8. Discuss.
9. Now that you know the power dissipation at any RPM, you can know the power input necessary to drive the rotor at that steady RPM. Compare this input power to the output power going to the LED.
10. Report and discuss.
