Thanks Bill, I can't get the hang of it at all. The picture was the right
way up in the little attachments box and it ends  sideways.
The recipe for cooking a Canads is: Put the goose in a pot with a
blue brick and when the brick is tender the goose is done.

Tinsel of course they are not geese ..those are the numbered Cows without the numbers [New PETA regulation chapter two paragraph 3
of the Wee Cow hearders handbook,""effective immediately all Numbers Shall be removed from Pigmy Oreo Bovine""
PETA has found them to be a choking hazard at Sushi bars in Certain sanctuary cities in the US.

Very nice Chet,

I've also got to spend a week with my daughter and my new 9 month old grand daughter when they came for a visit from Calgary to Ottawa.

Thanks for sharing

Babies are cute all right... especially when they are larger than lifesize!

For a good image display on this forum the image should be no more than 1024 pixels wide. 800 pixels wide is plenty in most cases.

1. Download and install a proper image editing program, like gimp or mtpaint.
http://mtpaint.sourceforge.net/
http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

2. Open your image in your image editor.

3. In gimp, select "Scale Image" from the Image menu. In mtPaint, select "Scale Canvas" from the Image menu.

4. Change the horizontal pixel width that is indicated, down to some more appropriate value like 1024 or 800 pixels wide (horizontal). You may have to click the chain icon or the "fix aspect ratio" button once or twice to get the vertical dimension to automatically change to the correct value for your entered vertical value.

5. Now from the File menu select Save As... and name your smaller image something appropriate like MyImageSmall.jpg. Or if you don't want to keep your fullsized original, just select "Save".

And that is it. I don't know why people are finding this to be so difficult. It takes far longer to describe the process than it actually does to do it. It takes about ten mouseclicks, and a few keystrokes to enter the new size numbers and filename.

Or preview on OS X which is standard. That's a beautiful shot Chet, thanks for sharing it.

I don't know what is available for those people who are using tablets or funnyfones to do their uploading. But I would imagine that there are also very simple solutions available for those folks too.

Oh yes quite. More so than those that are using systems based on 1980s like platforms.

Then why is it that those of use who are using those systems based on old platforms are uploading images that fit properly, while those using the newer platforms can't seem to figure out how to do it?

I saw the photo and instantly thought to myself how has someone posted
a photo of my daughter? Well of corse when I looked closer I could see that
it wasn't her. Anyway, said daughter looked over my shoulder and said
"When did you take that one dad?" She thought it was a picture of herself
and Tullis.
I find it really nice to learn a bit about the people who post on here and
that lovely picture of Chet's family members says a lot to me.
TK. my position is this, I do find it difficult to master these devices but I
really enjoy the results. I thought I had nearly mastered the sizing issue and
then my pictures come rotated 90 degrees even though they look right in the
box. The two-year old has broken her leg or something when she fell out of
the van and she can't walk. As a result she can't go outside and today she was
sitting on the sofa and using an IPad as if she'd been doing it for years, I
found it most amazing!
I've been trying to do a bit of theory as far as coupled inductors go and
have found it to be most interesting.I feel I'm getting there bit by bit but it
is difficult for my old brain. I'm just about getting my head round virtual
photons versus real ones and things like near field. I don't see much mileage
in the arbitrary winding of coils etc. when there's no basis for thinking that
it'll work based on theory.
              John.

Don't do that.  It could lead to a strain of hyper intelligent hamsters with dreams of global domination.

i don't think ramset is into owning that breed.

he's more likely to have rescued a number of unwanted pups and raised them to work hard, strive for world peace and wealth to all, and most important of all, take diction...
