Title: Tommey Reed's mini Gasifier Project.
Post by: TommeyLReed on July 16, 2014, 04:19:31 PM
Hi All,

Sick of the big and ulgy gasifiers out there, this is my simple design to run a 1kw generator system using wood pellets or small wood chips.

You've got some interesting ideas.  I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

Hi Tom, I've been looking at these gasifiers since My main heat source is wood.
Do you think paper soaked in old veggie oil could be used instead of wood?
I don't have access to a welder so am not sure I could build ,maybe I could use high heat epoxy?
Looking forward to the finished unit.
Thanks artv

Hi Shylo,

I don't think cooking oil would work in a gasifier, due to the fact it used high temperature to explode.

I would think it would be better in a rocket mass heater, better safe then sorry.

I should be done in a few days on my gasifier, working on the blower and cooling system.

Hello All,

I am just about finished with this gasifier project.

This is the first wood gasifier reactor start up, I still need to make the water cool condensor next.

Enjoy the show.

Hi All,

I ran into a problem with wood pellets, and I was creating more tar then needed due to low air flow in the reactor.

I have fixed the problem and was able to reach temperature above 2000F.
