Hi Alex,

Here is a neat "robot" design that has an interesting mechanical motion.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8NXWkGzm1E

For a whimsical device merry it with a double cone ramp.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeYw46xWZCs

Inspired by Alexander's design is attached is a picture of mixing the two.

I have a feeling it would get stuck at the end in this design. The corners would have to be expanding also but at rate to the curvature of the end and the flipping angle :). It's just a whimsical device for now maybe someone can get an idea to push it past the corners.

     Hi DreamThinkBuild !
Your puzzle is related to inclined plane and a strange appearance...
As a matter of fact , it's a non-repetitive (rolling) fall , a "classic" lab-demo for gravity  property.
We are interested for a (self) repetitive fall...

...and a simple (two sticks...) continuous motion arrangement (1996) , intended to resemble closely a perpetuum mobile concept , at:

In my opinion , this is the path for a creative evolution , thinking to a self-running gravity powered device.

.....of an old real simple machine , powered by the free fall of a lever ,due to a continuous gravity unbalance , you can see in slow motion at :
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mD7cqAm_Okg  ...playing. Variable leverage and "double" acceleration ( sling effect )
...and an old proposal for a possible gravity powered device ( wheel concept...)  , at :
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fxe55EtbR8Y  ...playing gravity acceleration , only.
As a dilemmatic puzzle , we have a simple way : to modify the trebuchet and to simplify the wheel.

The problem is : can we replace the well known "firing" stroke of the explosion /  expansion with the free fall gravity unbalance?

DreamThinkBuild

Nice try but I think you need to change you tracks. I have a design of it, but have not built it due to not having time. But now my disability percentage has been increased. I will have a full week to spend on wheel work as I call it each month. Then I will build my version as well.

Al_ex

I will also be adding in 3 different test soon on the device you show of my video. Each will have a different secondary driver and see if I can get it to perpetuate. Thanks for show my video.
