Hello,

(I haven't found a proper forum to ask this so I have chosen this. If there is a better one please let me know)

I had an idea and I need info on energy, procedure, etc to convert a pieze of steel (or whatever other mateiral is more appropriate meaning less energy used to convert it and more powerful magent produced) into a permanent magnet by running a current through a coil surrownding it.
The magnetized material will be re-energized to change its magnetic polarity at a slow rate (some number less than 50Hz)

I need to know about energy consumed and magnet power depending of dimension of the steel pieze. And also the best procedure (circuit) to do it.

I have looked in internet but I haven't found anything.

Thanks for your help.
