WooHoo!

I recall seeing those waveforms on Ruslan's scope and wasn't able to
relate it to something I was familiar with.  Now I recognize it.

Yes, I think this is where Ruslan was monitoring the current waveform in the series resonant yoke winding by using a small toroid core, allowed to saturate by virtue of the high series current and sufficient ampere turns. The sharpness and amplitude of the 'moustache' shaped waveform spikes give a good indication of approaching resonance.

WooHoo!

Did that scope finally find you Nick?

Hey, something to think about with y'alls yoke cores...

Square ferrite.  If you don't know what that means, watch this video

Oh! well done. I have heard it said that the 'cores; are originally barium based military grade that has been originally used, so to try and say what device to look for in the core material in the data sheet and how to set it up, I wish you all luck.

PS I used your fishing line air gap with good results thanks very much for that one ;) .

   Dog-One:
Yes, it finally came!!!  I had to make an all day trip to pick it up at customs, they only charged 20 dollars at customs. They thought that it was a new scope still in the original box. I had to convince they that it was not new. When it was.
It made it here in perfect condition.  I had made a post to you here on the forum when I got it, but I guess that you didn't see it.
   Thank so much again, Dog-One.

Itsu: I been playing around with different snubber caps and resistors, and have managed to drop the peaks a bit, as well as the heat on the snubber resistors, and also the fets are staying somewhat cooler now.
I also added a 0.1uf WIMA cap in parallel onto the grenade's output coil, which had not been used lately. This helped to reduce the high peaks, and mellow out the heat issue.
I always use a magnetite magnet onto the ferrite yoke core, to fine tune the device with. And have always done so.

As we don't really have any proper tuning instruction, perhaps I can show how to go about it, once I learn the ropes.

Using both scopes, and a CT on the 3t induction circuit, I adjust for the maximum output from the small CT torroid, but it usually is not where the best output at the bulbs is at. So, I'm hoping that the Kacher's HV will make up for the difference, and will allow the device to receive Radio Moscow, again. As it's gotten a bit harder to find, when dropping the voltages under 200v.

Oh! well done now try telling them what to look for in the core material in the data sheet and or how to set it up, I wish you luck.

I don't do any "telling" around here.  Only suggesting what single ingredient may be part of the special sauce.

If reminance (sp?) is part of this equation, tiny soft iron shims between the yoke core halves may also be
helpful.

I do remember that "moustache wave" Ruslan showed us which means the core is being pushed into saturation
where the flux locks in a particular polarity.  I know first hand, efficiently transferring a nice normal sine wave
of current into the inductor coil doesn't seem to fit the bill.  I beat that dead horse well below ground level.

I think Nick is pouring some serious current into his yoke, so he may be hitting the saturation
range, but if the flux isn't locking, it may not matter.  Just want Nick to have all the possible
options laid out there for him, because unlike most everyone else, eventually Nick will try them.
Which is why Nick will get this thing working at some point.  He's serious and in the end, that's
all that matters.

PS i used your fishing line air gap thanks very much ;) .

IT does raise the frequency for sure, but it's very tough to gauge just the right size you need
so the frequency falls where you want it to.

So, I have to look for it again.
As we don't really have any proper tuning instruction, perhaps I can show how to go about it, once I learn the ropes.

I recall that I could only get the 'effect' with one of the mosfets running hot, which is why I deduced that the 'effect' was dependant on a chaotic condition brought on by mosfet avalanche.

Indeed Dog. Nick's dogged approach gives him the best chance of success. If OU is out there, Nick will discover it.

Yes, well my fets are not running hot right now, and both are working fine.  I have not really "lost the effect".
It's just harder to find it when running at lower voltages, that don't saturate the cores. Radio Moscow only can be heard when running over 200v. At least in my case. So, this is not about failing fets. My fets are fine, and I've ordered a bunch more of them, as well. Just in case.

Hi Dog-One. How did you make out with your Nelson Rocha setup experiments?
Come across anything interesting?

P.S. There are likely many people out there who continue to plug away at the OU research,
but  more behind the scenes. I have been running a whole series of experiments in the
last many years, and continue to do so as time allows. I hope I am getting closer, but I
won't be able to say for sure that I have really got something concrete until I have a
working OU device sitting on my work table.  :D

It is so far confirming everything Erfinder has been saying for the past ten years.

There's still something magical about electricity I'm unable yet to put my finger
on.  It's like some sort of spin or vortex that is hard to describe.  What I'm pretty
certain of at the moment is when you push current into a coil, it causes a magnetic
field to manifest.  This magnetic field seems to have inertia--it wants to persist
beyond when you cut off the current source.  This phenomena gives you the
advantage of interrupting the linear flow of time.  You in effect can borrow
this electrical energy and forestall repaying it indefinitely, each cycle, one at
a time.

More to come when I get to that next powerful milestone...

P.S.  Nelson amazes me how he is able to see all the moving parts and
keep things straight in his head.

Hi Dog-One. Interesting. Yeah, there are likely new mysteries to be discovered in
the subtleties of electrical and magnetic interactions if we can only wrap our head around
them when we run across them on the workbench. :)

Hi Itsu, guys:

I am bread boarding a TL494 PWM driver circuit this evening, and I am wondering if you left
the dead time at the default as I have done so far (which I think is maybe 5%), and if you think
having this much dead time between the outputs of the TL494 (Pins 9 and 10) will be detrimental
in any way, other than having a little less output? See the attached scope shot of the outputs on
pins 9 and 10 showing the default dead time.

About 41% seams about right. You should be OK with the default settings, for now.
Can your scope show the duty cycle readings?

Hi Nick. Yes, with the duty cycle pot set to max duty cycle it looks like
my dead time is about 7%, as the scope measures the duty cycle for
each output at 43%. Yeah, I would think that 43% should be good enough,
but I was curious if any of you guys were running at closer to 50% duty cycle.
See the duty cycle measurements in the attached scope shot.

No. No one that I know of. But I wish that it could be run at 50%, or closer to it.
Thanks for showing your duty cycle readings. Now I know where to set it up, to be able to see it showing the readings.
