Kinetic AC to DC Doughnut Charger
« on: June 01, 2011, 11:05:01 AM »
Hello,

I recall watching a clip of the Dyson UK Engineering competition back in 2002. The winner made a kinetic charger, a doughnut shaped container with coils around it and a magnetic ball... with a small ac to dc converter in the middle of the doughnut. It was roughly no wider than a man's palm.

Unfortunately, I can't recall the name of that student, or what even happened to his design. Yep and google wont help either.

I did a search for KINETIC CHARGER and found almost a MILLION sites.

Maybe we can all help go through them and see which one it is?
