Fancy vs. reality...
« on: November 23, 2010, 01:17:43 PM »

.....can be  a "mirror image",a comparative reflexion between your "new thing"( a possible gravity motor...) and a short claim of the actual technology.

You can find an interesting and essential condition about this field of inquiry at:   http://peswiki.com/energy/Directory:Gravity_Motors

This is: "...to achieve a full 360 rotation, with acceleration between  each complete turn".

     Let's notice (and test,especially!) a simple fact:

-a full up-down (180 degrees) pendular fall (small friction),can rise the bob to about ~330 degees.

-if we "add" at the top (starting) position  a certain push (starting velocity)...we can "achieve more than a full 360 rotation".

We can think that, for a pendulum-like arrangement,apparently...we have a single problem: how to imagine ,get away a "self-addition" of acceleration,or rotation with acceleration!?

Sir ,
Any thoughts on this?

     Hi Ramset !

This movie  (Robert33),and some comments regarding this topic is interesting...

The main problem remains the question of power source:primary,it's the gravity fall,in my opinion.

The "magnetic solution" takes advantage of very strong magnets (a limited source,storage...),but very small torque.

Maybe,in the future ,this magnetic repulsion pulse, can be a "key" to solve "smoothly"  the mechanical long arm-short arm switch,in a classical /mechanical motor.

Let's call it a "hybrid" system...

.....or usually,a fancy must be tempered with reality.
But,if the "fancy" appears to be a "reality",in the same time?
Take a look at:
   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMXurB0OisI&feature=related
We have:
-a fulcrum/support/pivot
-a rotating lever, due to a moving mass on the arm.

   Alex,
Trains that move @ 300 kph use mag lev.

         Hi Jim !
Keeping  the old, classic point of view about a possible (impossible?!) gravity powered device,we must play gravity fall and inertia...so mechanics, only.
If we add the magnetic play ..it's interesting, but the "skeleton" design, must be firstly..."pure" mechanics.
My suggestion::try to play a "modified" trebuchet (in the top position.it can "throw"the short arm into a long arm...)

.....we can start  with a fancy,an illusion of continuous  motion due to gravity, inertia ...and a "hidden" electric battery ,at :
  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q_Nz63k-Ww&feature=related
but this decorative object, can it be easy modified into a practical self-moving one ,due to gravity  fall and rotationalinertia, only !?
